Val di Sole Valley - The green oasis of Trentino
In the north the mountains Ortler and Cevedale, in the
south the Brenta Dolomites and the Adamello mountains: whoever
feels like total immersion into the astonishing nature of Trentino,
should visit the Val di Sole Valley. The National Park Stelvio and
the still pristine valleys - Val di Rabbi and Val di Non - offer
unspoilt nature as far as the eye can see.
The localities Cles, Pejo, Madonna di Campiglio, Malè and many others are
nestled in the middle of this gorgeous countryside. Pejo is all
about thermal baths, Cles about apples and
Madonna di Campiglio about winter sports, just like Ponte di Legno
and Passo
Tonale.
Other very important holiday destinations of the Val di
Sole Valley are Malè, Marrileva and Folgarida. Malè is the cultural center of the
valley. Marilleva and Folgarida, however, provide a rewarding
skiing area, only about an hour's drive from Trento. Two
other very rewarding skiing areas are Ponte di Legno and
Passo Tonale where ambitious skiers can practice their
favourite sport also in summer!
By the way, Val di Sole, Madonna di Campiglio, Pinzolo, Madonna di
Campiglio, Folgarida, Marilleva, Passo Tonale, Ponte di Legno, Pejo, Andalo, Fai della
Paganella and Monte Bondone belong to the
Super Skirama Dolomiti Association.
Mountain
biking is the most popular sport in summer. In 2007 a big
bike-park was built in Malè. In 2008 the UCI Mountain Bike
World Cup Races were held there. Other popular sports are
hiking and climbing, and
rafting and canoeing - especially in the last few years. No
wonder, holidays in Val di Sole Valley are all but
boring!
