Trento:  in the heart of the mountain

Trento is a versatile town right in the heart of the Dolomites. It is full of Renaissance palaces and pastel-colored frescoes.

In the past the town was surrounded by defensive walls. Still today you can admire the impressing ruins at the Piazza Fiera square. This square is a central point of the city. Here fairs, markets and, in winter, the traditional Christmas market take place.

In the pedestrian area in the heart of the city you find a lot of shops and bars. Here are also situated several universities, cinemas and theaters. From the center of the city the Castello del Buonconsiglio Castle with its museum and beautiful gardens is easily reachable.

The main square, the Piazza del Duomo square, will leave you speechless. Surrounded by impressing palaces and beautiful frescoes and the fountain of the God Neptune it is an absolutely breathtaking sight.

Within a few kilometers of the centre of the city you reach picturesque alpine villages, ideal for hiking or biking tours.

Another must-visit in Trento is the "Museo del Rame" museum. Here you can admire almost 3000 objects dating from times from the Renaissance up to the middle of the last century.
