Hiking tour on Lagorai: at Stellune Lake

The Lagorai area offers splendid opportunities for hiking in the Dolomites! One of the most beautiful path, lasting about 6 hours, leads to the mountain lake of Stellune.

It starts from the Ponte Stue, 8 km far from Molina di Fiemme at 1252 m, along the road to Passo Manghen. From here you follow the forest road number 318, which climbs to the left into the forest to reach the Val Stue. We recommend you carry water and food during the journey.

The route is therefore pleasing shade in summer and not at all demanding. You will reache Malga Stue Alta and Bassa and then the alpine pastures Cazzorga, at 1845 m.

Continue along the path marked 362 until the Forcella Montalon at 2133m. Just below there is Montalon Lake, which can be reached with a short detour.

Follow the path 322 to the north-east. The trail, offers a splendid panorama of the Stellune Lake. In a short time you reach the Forcella di Val Sorda. Here, history lovers can admire the remains of some military ruins of the Second World War.

To reach the shores of the lake, continue along the Path Italia, marked 318 to 2091m.

For the return, retracing the same journey .
