The Rosengarten-Latemar area is a very rewarding hiking area. A lot of trails are winding through mountain pastures, on mountains and into canyons. Airy fixed-rope routes are leading through steep rock face and alpine routes through legendary faces.
For "normal" hikers we want to present here an easy excursion to the Latemar-Hütte Refuge.
How to get there
The excursion begins in Obereggen. There you have to take the chairlift Oberholz to reach an altitude of 2,150 m above sea level. Arrived at the summit station, take path 18 and hike to the "Gamsstallscharte". There change path and take the number 516 which leads you directly to the Latemar-Hütte Refuge. You have to know that the refuge is also called "Rifugio Torre di Pisa". There you can take a break and enjoy a nice meal and the breathtaking view over the mountains.
To turn back to the summit station Oberholz please take the routes 22 or 23a. All in all you need about 4 hours for the medium difficult excursion.
