With a length of 6 km, 1,033 m of difference in altitude and 115 gates the Gardenissima ranks among the longest giant slaloms of the world. Since more than 15 year it takes place at the end of the winter on the Seceda slope in St. Christina in Gröden. The next edition is scheduled for the 1st April 2012.
The Gardenissima's popularity may be due to the top-class participant, the unique panorama of the Dolomites or the varied supporting program that turns the race into a real festival for athletes and spectators. Fact is: Whether professional skiers or hobby sportsmen, Gardenissima is an unforgettable experience for everybody who loves skiing.
However you need a little bit of fitness and power if you would like to pass the competition which is organized as parallel giant slalom. At any rate you should register in good time, because there are taken only 650 inscriptions. The time for applications starts on 2nd November 2011 and there are admitted skiers with or without FISI points, if they have 15 or more years.
