Cortina d'Ampezzo: excursion to the Refuge Croda da Lago

Great panoramic views, wonderful landscapes and an excursion which isn't easy but very rewarding: who wants to live a day in the middle of the Dolomites in Cortina d'Ampezzo should make an excursion the Croda da Lago Refuge!

Starting point is Cortina d'Ampezzo (1,211 m) or more precisely the camping ground at the river. We walk in the direction of Campo di Sotto and take there the path 432 on the right. The path leads as to the Lago Pianozze Lake at finally also to the Croda da Lago Refuge (2042 m). A small side trip to the Lago Federa Lake is recommended.

In good weather you can enjoy fantastic views over the mountains of Cortina d'Ampezzo and Antelao.

We recommend this excursion only to people in good physical condition and with no fear from heights. 2,000 m of difference in altitude and about 7 hours of walk are quite challenging.
