The Via Merlone fixed-rope route

The Caldini-mountain group is not as famous as some others in the Dolomites. Maybe this is the reason because the landscape here is so magic, pure and untouched. Explore this rewarding mountain group on the Via Merlone fixed-rope route.

The starting point of the hike is Misurina. Park your car there and take path 115 (Via Merlone) which leads you to the Rifugo Fratelli Fonda-Savio. There the path gets rockier and some passages are equipped with fixed-rope routes. On ladders and wire ropes you will arrive on the top of the Cima Cadin (2,790m). The descent is the same as the ascent.

Duration:  6 ½ hours
Difference in altitude: 900 m up, 900 m down
Difficultly: catcher fixed - rope route
