Cortina is one of the most famous holiday destinations

The area of Cortina was known for winter sports
even before the Olympic Games that took place here in 1956.
Cortina, together with Cristallo, Sorapis and Tofane, is one of the

In Cortina you can also find numerous art galleries of

Cortina and its mountains are famous for the "Enrosadira". It is
the phenomenon of the usually white mountains shimmering in red and
pink in the sunset.
Especially during the summer there take place many numerous sports
and cultural events.
In winter
Cortina is venue of the Skiing World Cup and the cross country ski
race Dobbiaco-Cortina.
The cuisine in Cortina is influenced a lot by
the neighboring areas like South Tyrol.
The most famous dishes are the "Apfelstrudel", the "chenedi"( a
type of Tyrolean dumplings), ravioli with spinach and poppy and the
"pestariei" (small pieces of dough made of white flour).
