San Vito di Cadore - holidays with the king of the Dolomites

Mt. Antelao is the mighty king of the Dolomites. He lies southerly of the "queen" Marmolada and is about 3,263 m high. The Antelao is a great mountains, a independent and isolated pyramid, which forms the door to the South together with the vis-à-vis standing Mt. Monte Pelmo.

San Vito di Cadore is situated between these two rocky giants. It is a small and lovely mountaineer-village. The nature around San Vito is mostly unspoiled, many high-alpine lakes, mountain pastures and mountain peaks are within reach. Highly recommended is a visit of the Lago di Mosigo and a trekking tour on the Dolomites high alpine trail no 3. Good alpinists should certainly climb the king Antelao and his neighbour Mt. Pelmo!

Who spend his holiday in San Vito di Cadore enjoys a lot of good slopes and cross-country ski runs. It is also possible to explore the amazing skiing area of Cortina d'Ampezzo.
