Cadore - holiday in the Wild Dolomites
Generally when we are talking about the Dolomites we are
talking about the mountains surrounding Alta Badia, Fanes, Gröden
and the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. Most people tend to forget about an
other very important part of the impressive mountain range: the
west of the Dolomites -
the Cadore.
Going to Cadore one has the impression that the
time has stood still for the last century. The mountain resort near
Cadore is very quiet. Even in the middle of the high season it can
happen to you that you are the only one on the top of the mountain.
The complete freedom and liberty is all yours! You will
feel like a pioneer when he first conquests a
peak!
For those who want an extra challenge the Monte Civetta and
Monte Pelmo offer huge climbing walls and and
challenging alpine altitudes.
We also recommend a trip to Sappada. Here the
habitants speak still today their original language, a german
dialect.
Besides, the landscape is absolutesly
magnificant! But you needn't worry, many sights in Cadore
are also accessible for not alpinists. Alleghe, Auronzo di
Cadore, San Vito di Cadore, Pieve di
Cadore, Ponte nelle Alpi and Forni di Sopra, to name just a few. By
the way, Cadore is also fascinating in winter. Through the ski
center of "Comprensorio Sciistico Civetta" the
region's slopes and lifts are connected to the important ski circus
Dolomiti Superski.
