San Lorenzo in Banale: a delightful town in the Dolomites

San Lorenzo in Banale is a delightful town in the heart of Dolomites. It is located at 758 m above sea level. Originally the town consisted of seven smaller villages, called "Sette comuni".

San Lorenzo in Banale is an ideal starting point for hiking tours in the Val Ambiez Valley and offers a magnificent view over the Giudicarie Alps and Brenta Group.

Near the center of the city you find the ruins of the Castel Mani. It used to be the Prince Bishop of Trento' s stronghold. The center of San Lorenzo in Banale has recently been renovated. But the ancient part has been very well preserved.

Sports enthusiasts will find thousands of possibilities of different nature: football and soccer fields, bowling, swimming pools, tennis courts, volleyball, beach volleyball and basketball fields, even miniature golf and a climbing wall.

San Lorenzo in Banale is just 5 km from the Molveno Lake and close to Comano's relaxing spas and the Adamello Brenta Nature Park.

In winter you can spend pleasant hours in the skiing area of Andalo-Fai Paganella. Here you can also enjoy snowboarding, telemarking and carving.
