Snowshoeing in Arabba

The mountain is an ideal holiday destination for those who want to spend a few carefree days with the whole family! The proposals to entertain children and adults in the area of Arabba are really a lot.

A good alternative is a walk in the snow with snowshoes! You need simply: snowshoes, poles and a good pair of walking shoes! You can discover the beauty of wild places, away from the crowds and chaos of ski-slopes!  Not too challenging hike with snowshoes is that which leads to the Col di Lana, top that was the scene of many battles during the First World War.

The starting point is the road that, from Pieve di Livinallongo, rises to the village of Palla (and Agai). On the left, take the path number 21 which goes into the woods, follow it, past a building that houses a small museum of war, very nice place to visit for children who love history. Continuing on the right you reach the peak  where there is a small memorial church.

But be careful! The snow conditions can change very quickly, hire a guide to be more safe! Arabba Fodom Tourism organizes every Wednesday, starting from 6 January 2010, guided hikes with snowshoes.
